Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is likely to return to the octagon before the end of this year.
Numerous informed sources report that the American fighter will hold his next fight on December 10 at UFC 282 in Las Vegas, however, the name of his opponent is not called. As you know, for the past two years, Jon Jones has been preparing for his debut in the heavyweight category, and his rivals are tipped to be former division champion Stipe Miocic and current UFC title holder Francis Ngannou. Also, the former interim UFC heavyweight champion, Cyril Gan, spoke about the desire to fight Johnson.
Recall that two months ago, the ex-UFC champion announced that he plans to hold his next fight as part of the last numbered tournament of the organization this year, but did not make any further statements on this matter.
Jon Jones, 35, last fought in February 2020 when he successfully defended his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes. After that, the American released the championship belt and announced his transition to the heavyweight category.
