Russian light heavyweight Nikita Krylov scored one of the most significant victories of his career at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, defeating Swiss former UFC title contender Volkan Ozdemir via unanimous decision.
The start of the game didn’t go well for Shakhtar – the opponent, who had a cannon punch with both hands, immediately went ahead and forced an exchange on him, which stunned the Russian and seemed to put him on the brink of defeat.
Nevertheless, having missed several significant blows, Krylov managed to pull himself together and stop the opponent’s starting spurt, slowing down Ozdemir in the clinch, and then completely seized the initiative, managing to shock him in the stance and performing a successful takedown.
Throughout the remaining rounds, the Russian fighter used the same tactic, punching a slow opponent with a series of punches and kicks, and then transferring him to the ground, where he worked in ground and pound, and as a result took the victory in a duel with a score of 30-27 and 29- 28 twice.
