Russian fighter Maxim Grishin, whose fight against Filipe Lins was canceled at the last moment a week ago due to an opponent’s illness, will return to the octagon on November 5 at UFC Fight Night 214 in Las Vegas, and Brazilian Jailton Almeida will face Maximus.
The fight will take place in the intermediate weight category up to 220 pounds (99.8 kg).
Earlier it was reported that the Brazilian will hold his next fight on October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi against Shamil Abdurakhimov, and at the moment it is not known why the organization decided to move Almeida to another card and assign him a new opponent.
Zhailton Almeida, 31, was signed to the UFC last year by defeating Nasrudin Nasrudinov via rear naked choke in a Dana White’s Contender Series qualifier, before scoring three stoppage victories in the organization, finishing Danilo Marquez, Parker Porter and Anton Turkal.
38-year-old Maxim Grishin has fought four fights in the UFC, with two wins and two losses. The last time “Maximus” entered the octagon was in February of this year, having won by unanimous decision against William Knight.
