Islam Makhachev entered the top three UFC fighters

Two days after defeating Charles Oliveira, the new UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, burst into the ranking of the organization’s best fighters regardless of weight, taking third place in it.

Thus, the Russian fighter bypassed all UFC champions, with the exception of the leader of the P4P list, Alexander Volkanovski, who owns the featherweight title, as well as the middle division champion Israel Adesanya, who is in second place.

Charles Oliveira, who closed the top three before the fight with Makhachev, lost four positions and dropped to seventh place.

The Russian fighter will have a chance to lead the P4P UFC rating on February 11, when he will defend his belt against Volkanovski at UFC 284 in Perth.

Recall that the fight for the vacant UFC lightweight title between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira, who headed the UFC 280 tournament in Abu Dhabi last weekend, ended in the second round with the victory of the Russian by arm triangle choke.
