Deontay Wilder interested in Francis Ngannou fight

Former WBC heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder, who trains at UFC PI, has shown interest in a boxing match against reigning UFC title holder Francis Ngannou.

“We discussed this with my promoter Al Haymon and he agreed,” the American boxer told The Insider. “There’s an old saying: ‘If it makes dollars, it makes sense'”

“I think it would be an intriguing fight that would generate interest. Who knows, maybe we’ll see him in the future. This is a fight not to be missed.”

Deontay Wilder, who lost twice in a row to Tyson Fury ahead of schedule, will try to return his career to a successful track on October 15, and Robert Helenius, representing Finland, will face the American.

As for Francis Ngannou, he continues to recover from knee surgery and plans to return to the octagon next year.
