UFC flyweight fighter Zhalgas Zhumagulov, in an interview with SE, spoke about the methods of educating young people in his Kazakh gym.
– A few years ago you said that there is order in your hall – the young people leave the shower room when the older ones come in. Is this tradition still going on?
Yes, of course, we always have. If the older one came in, the younger one was blown up immediately. He gave a place, something else there. If the elder is sitting, then the younger one gets up, begins to clean up, put tea. It is in our mentality, and we continue to keep it that way. The younger one should always run and move in order to respect the older one. This is how we were brought up and this is how we educate young people. In our hall, the youth is very educated, and all the boys are like that – with character.
– Was there a case when a young man refused to follow the tradition? “I’m washing, why should I go out?”
– Yes, they just shook them off in a brotherly way and that’s it. We drive the youth, I myself, honestly, will not hide, I beat them. Specifically, I beat them all. If someone does not obey or messes up, I will take it and beat you in front of everyone. Not in the face, but in the liver, in the chest I’ll pierce or put under me and hammer with my elbows.
