‘Wizard’ Gets Chance, ‘Midnight Train’ Vs Another ‘Crusher’: Announcements

30-year-old Joe Cordina (14-0, 8 KOs) got a title chance and will fight in early summer with the Japanese IBF world champion in the second featherweight (up to 59 kg) Kenichi Ogawa (26-1-1, 18 KOs).

The fight will take place on June 4 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales and will be shown on DAZN.

Last November, Ogawa defeated Azinga Fuzile for the vacant IBF belt, and in December, “Welsh Wizard” Cordina also outboxed Miko Khachatryan.

Heavyweight prospect Richard “Midnight Train” Riakpore (14-0, 10 KOs) will take on Fabio “Stone Crusher” Turchi (20-1, 14 KOs) in an IBF qualifying bout at the OVO Arena in London, England.

The fight will take place on June 11, will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

Recall that last fall, Riakpore knocked out Durodola, and in the spring – also an unbeaten compatriot Deyona Jumu.
