Two wins in one night: the Australian heavyweight ended his career brightly

Nissan Arena, Nathan, Australia. Local popular veteran heavyweight (over 90.7 kg), he is also an ex-rugby player
Paul Gallen (12-2-1, 7 KOs) brightly ended his career – he had two fights in one evening, won two victories.

The opponents, however, were not very good (both are also old ex-rugby players), and the format of the fights was 4 rounds of 2 minutes each. Apparently, the results will not be included in the official statistics, although the ring announcer claimed the opposite.

First from Gallen got
to Ben Hannant (0-1) and then
Justin Hodges (5-1, 2 KOs). The interesting part of the show was that neither Gallen nor Hannant or Hodges knew who would go up against Paul first.

Fight #1

The fight with Hannant turned out to be very difficult for Gallen. The opponent “stylistically” turned out to be a copy of the favorite – the big guys staged a fierce collective farm fight. The underdog obviously left all his strength in the ring, but failed to snatch victory (40-36, 40-36 and 40-37), but awarded Gallen with a huge hematoma near his left eye.

Gallen UD 4.

Fight #2

Hodges completely shocked Gallen in the opening round. The left cheekbone of the favorite turned red. In the 2nd round, the underdog even managed to drop the favorite, but used up all his strength in an attempt to finish him off.

Gallen seized the initiative, but did it dirty – almost pushing the opponent out of the ring. The referee decided to make it look like nothing bad had happened. We have a fierce collective farm batch. Cool show!

In the 3rd round, Gallen finally imposed a power fight at a comfortable close range. Hodges missed more and more, and shortly before the gong, the referee intervened and stopped the fight.

Gallen TKO 3.

If anything, Gallen’s career turned out to be very chic. The 40-year-old uncle has something to brag about – he has a victory over the ex-UFC star Mark Hunt (W UD 6) and ex-world champion Lucas Brown (W KO 1).

Also, another local heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) performed as part of the show.
Joseph Goodall (9-1-1, 8 KOs), who in 2017 at the World Championships in Hamburg (Germany) beat the favorites Viktor Vykhrist (Ukraine) and Maxim Babanin (RF) and took bronze.

He beat a native of Cameroon in the co-main event of the show
Arsene Fosso (4-2, 3 KOs), thus closed the defeat to compatriot prospect Justice Justice Honey.

Goodall very decently loaded Fosso’s body, at times he disturbed with uppercuts. In response, he rushed into some wild, absolutely unreadable attacks – sometimes even hit.

In the 2nd round, Goodall got used to failing his opponent on his feet, countering hard. He shook the African, but failed to finish – both collapsed on the floor of the ring.

In the 3rd three-minute period, the underdog picked up twos, was again shocked. During one of the attacks, the favorite began to signal to the referee that he was unable to continue the fight, took his knee. This ended the fight.

Gooddoll TKO 3.

The winner immediately grabbed the microphone and began to call Gallen into the ring, shocking fans and TV commentators with selective swearing. In general, it is possible that we will see another farewell fight of Gallen …
