Russian UFC fighter Vyacheslav Borshchev said in an interview with SE that he has no plans to challenge anyone to a fight.
On the night of January 16, 30-year-old Borshchev made his debut in the UFC, knocking out American Dakota Bush in the first round at UFC Vegas 46 (UFC on ESPN 32).
– There is an example of Khamzat Chimaev, who very quickly became a UFC star. And immediately after the victory, he began to challenge everyone in a row. Would you like to challenge someone to a fight?
“Honestly, nobody cares about me. I’m not interested in medals, pieces of iron, awards. I’m interested in money. Therefore, I listen to my team and do not rush anywhere. I don’t see the point in challenging someone to a fight right now. I have one idea – it is very cool and you will like it. About who we want to call. But I think it will happen only after the second contract. Now I’m fighting for little money and there’s no point in calling out the big names. And yes, it’s actually funny. I fight in the 155lb category, which is the most competitive weight. And there are so many people here? I think the tops are not interested in me at all now – no matter what the hype around me may be. Does it make sense for them to fight me? What’s the point?
But today they showed me on ESPN – I got into the top ten highlights. To be honest, today’s card was drawn by me and the last fight (Kelvin Kattar vs. Gigi Chikaze. – Approx. “SE”). In principle, if I continue in the same spirit, there are chances to quickly gain momentum. But I’m not in a hurry yet. So tired of being a beggar, just let me at least enjoy being a full-fledged fighter.
And to call … Such an old topic. It seems to me that people will soon get tired of it, it will be interesting only to new fans. It’s the same thing! “You are a fool, you are a rooster, I will break you, I will tear everyone apart.” Well, it’s the same thing. Again, I listen to my team. If she tells me to call someone, I will try to do it as original as possible. I myself do not yet have the mood to pull someone out.
