The second early victory of the Olympic champion Yafai: video

Madison Square Garden, New York, USA. British Olympic champion Galal Yafai (2-0, 2 KOs) had his second professional fight and defended the WBC international flyweight belt (up to 50.8 kg) from American Miguel Cartagena (15-6-1, 6 KOs).

An absolutely one-sided fight ended after two rounds. Yafai beat the opponent, combined, confused with footwork and attack angles, as well as with high density. The referee demanded that the underdog “show at least something.” He never showed. Didn’t make it to the 3rd round. Smart solution.

Yafai RTD 2.

Compubox data: 92-11 for accurate shots.

The vacant WBA Continental American middleweight belt (up to 72.6 kg) was played by unbeaten Americans Austin Williams (11-0, 9 KOs) and Chordale Booker (17-1, 7 KOs).

Instead of a competitive duel, the potential of the best on the card, the fight ended properly and without even starting – Williams kneaded the opponent in the opening round.

Williams TKO 1.

Also as part of the show, the American super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) Reshat Mati (12-0, 7 KOs) beat his compatriot
Joe Eli Hernandez (12-2, 10 KOs).

The fight was funny. Hernandez did not find how to answer Mati. And he enjoyed superiority over his opponent, managing to flirt with the crowd and frankly clowning around. The favorite made no attempts to delay the opponent.

The score of the judges: three times 80-72.

Mati UD 8.
