Joshua advised to fire one of his coaches

British Probellum talent hunter Sam Jones called on former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua to fire either Angel Fernandez or Robert Garcia before contemplating a comeback. He believes that “there should be one cook in the kitchen,” and two coaches are not the most adequate option, which he stated
Seconds Out.

After his first loss to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021, Joshua fired longtime mentor Robert McCracken and replaced him with former assistant coach Fernandez, and signed Robert Garcia as well.

Interestingly, after the first defeat of Usyk, Joshua said that he had “too many votes” in the corner, but it turns out that in the second fight there was the same dilemma.

“Anthony, if you don’t trust the coach, get rid of him,” the functionary advised. Why hire Garcia if you already have a coach. If you don’t trust Fernandez, get rid of him, train with Garcia. If you don’t trust Garcia, work with Angel. As for me, there should be one cook in the kitchen.

Wilder says he will fight Joshua

Joshua is expected to have a couple of “quick fights” against “top 15 opponents” next year. His promoter Eddie Hearn has his sights set on January or February, and former AJ opponent Dillian Whyte is considered the “favorite” on the list of candidates to fight him.

Garcia recently spoke out about a possible fight between Joshua and Wilder. In September, by the way, he was not happy that Joshua agreed to fight Fury.
