“Hey Stipe Miocic, only you, the UFC and I know the truth about how you avoided me all of 2022 – July, September and December,” Jones wrote on the social network, referring to the opponent. “Now I’ve heard rumors that maybe we won’t fight this July.”
“Bro, it’s simple – either you believe in yourself or you don’t. Either you want this challenge or you don’t. Stop wasting other people’s time”
The answer of the former UFC champion was not long in coming.
“See you in July,” Miocic wrote.
Two weeks ago, Jon Jones successfully resumed his career after a three-year hiatus, finishing with a first-round guillotine choke from Cyril Gan to claim the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt vacated by Francis Ngannou.
The UFC plan calls for a title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic to headline UFC 290 in Las Vegas on July 8.
