Last weekend, the leader of the first middleweight American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) beat the Argentinean Brian Castaño (17-1-2, 12 KOs) on the second attempt and became the undisputed champion of the division.

With a high degree of probability, Charlo will have to hold a series of mandatory defenses. Sebastian Fundora (WBC) from the USA, Bahram Murtazaliev (IBF) from Russia and Tim Tszyu (WBO) from Australia are already claiming to fight him. The latter is considered the favorite.
Tszyu commented on Charlo’s victory, calling the champion “soft” and stating that he is lost under aggressive pressure.

Champion coach Derrick James also commented on Tszyu’s words: “I watched his fight against Gaucher. And he wasn’t impressed. I think it’s better for the kid to focus on his problems.”
Meanwhile, the fees of Charlo and Castaño are known, and Tim Tszyu told why he would beat Jermell. The champion waved his arms at the press conference and demanded “respect me now.”
