Former coach Ngannou recalled how the fighter put him in the most humiliating position in his life

Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion trainer Cyril Gan and Francis Ngannou’s former trainer Fernand Lopez in an interview SE» remembered the story of how a Cameroonian fighter made him wait four hours for an unknown basketball player.

“There is this guy, an NBA basketball player who is half Cameroonian. Before the fight with Stipe, Francis told me and other coaches that he wanted to go to a meeting with this player and take a photo. We didn’t even know this basketball player. A very funny story, and at the same time one of the worst moments of my life. I have never felt so humiliated. We came to train with this player. We waited the whole training session for him to take a picture. After training, he did not go to us, but to the locker room.

While he was there taking a shower, doing other things, another two hours passed. We have been waiting all this time – me, other coaches and another person from the UFC. Then, finally, this guy came in, said, “Hey, how are you?” Then he asks: “What kind of sport do you have, what do you do?” I think to myself, “Oh my God… What am I doing here?” Why go to a meeting with a person who has never even heard of you? Why the hell do you want a picture of him? You’re fucking fighting for the UFC title soon” Lopez said.

Ngannou vs Ghana will take place on January 22 at UFC 270 in Anaheim
