Demetrius Johnson defeated Adriano Moraes in the trilogy

The reigning ONE Championship flyweight champion, Demetrius Johnson, successfully defended his title by defeating Brazilian Adriano Moraes in the final match of the principle trilogy.

The first two meetings between Johnson and Moraes ended ahead of schedule, but this time the fighters spent all five rounds in the octagon, following which the judges gave the victory to the American by unanimous decision.

The fighters spent most of the fight headlined at ONE on Prime Video 10 in the standing position, exchanging blows from a distance and battling for position in the clinch, where “Mighty Mouse” had much of his success.

In an interview after the fight, Demetrius Johnson, 36, walked away from a direct question about whether he was going to continue his professional career.

“Do you want me to keep fighting?” the American fighter addressed the audience gathered at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, USA. “First, I have to discuss this with my wife, and then I will get back to you with an answer, OK? This is a closed discussion

The first fight between Johnson and Moraes took place in April 2021 at the ONE on TNT 1 tournament and ended with the defeat of the American by knockout in the second round, and in August last year, the Mighty Mouse took a convincing revenge by knocking out the Brazilian in the fourth round and taking away his championship belt in flyweight.

Note that the fighters of the flyweight division of the Asian organization perform in weight up to 135 pounds (61 kg), which corresponds to the lightest weight category in most world leagues.
