De La Hoya knows what Canelo needs to beat Bivol. Not sure if it will help

Oscar De La Hoya, the former promoter of Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) with whom he beat pots hard a few years ago, suggests the Mexican boxing superstar will have to change radically to get even with WBA light heavyweight champion Dimitri Bivolom (20-0, 11 KOs). Otherwise, says the head of Golden Boy Promotions, it makes no sense to go out for revenge, because the result will be the same, writes

As the undisputed champion in the 76.2kg category, the 32-year-old Canelo moved up to 79.4kg again, and … flew in almost declassing Bivolu – L UD 12. Now, Saul says, he is eager to get even in the return fight.

“I firmly believe that Canelo needs to change his style,” De La Hoya said. “He won’t beat Bivol in the same style.”

To do this, Oscar continued, Canelo “may have to change coaches” – longtime coach Eddie Reynoso, with whom they are like brothers and almost “since childhood together.”

Tendril approved the fight against Canelo

“Everyone changes coaches, everyone gets better [от этого]. Saul will not be able to defeat Bivol with the same style, the veteran repeated. “He can’t beat Bivol while being the same ‘flatfoot’. It’s impossible”.

Meanwhile, while the Mexican hatches plans for revenge on Bivol, he will first come out on November 5 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) against the dangerous Gilberto Ramirez. In such a fight, Bandera puts on an underdog, and the Russian manager allegedly fears a rematch with Canelo.
