We are afraid to jinx it, but it seems that WBC / WBA / IBF welterweight champion (up to 66.7 kg) Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) and WBO champion Terence Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) are at the finish line of regular negotiations on a duel for absolute leadership in the division. If this happens, for Terence it will be the second fight for the absolute: he previously took all four belts in super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg).
Such news
informed Max Kellerman boxing and MMA insider Mike Coppinger.
“They are very close to signing a contract. As I was told, everything looks so that the fight will be in Las Vegas in November, ”he said. These guys are at the finish line now. I don’t see how this fight can’t happen. Of course, this is boxing, there is no way to know in advance, but I am fully looking forward to the Crawford-Spence fight in Las Vegas in November.”
Hearn: Golovkin-Canelo fight is 10 times bigger than Crawford-Spence
Spence defeated WBA champion Yordenis Ugas in unification in April (TKO 10). As for Terence, he was last seen in November 2021: ahead of schedule in the same 10th round, he stopped ex-champion Sean Porter.
Terence Crawford doesn’t believe yet either.
Not so long ago, Mike Tyson called the winner in the battle Spence – Crawford.
