Former world champion and current boxing columnist Jonny Nelson, Briton, still stands his ground: OI-2012 gold medalist, absolute cruiserweight champion, WBA Super, IBF, WBO heavyweight belt holder Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) – a good boxer, but nothing more.
Nelson has no doubtthat at one time he would have beaten a Ukrainian: “Yes, I would have beaten him. How? I would just outbox! And I think it would be pretty easy to do. Yes, I would outbox him effortlessly.”
It all started back in October last year. Nelson wanted to hype so hard and he gave out that “Usyk is an ordinary left-hander!” The “expert” was noticed and since then has been periodically asked to explain, and David Haye commented on his scandalous statement and was answered by Usyk’s ex-coach Bashir.
Last week, Nelson talked about Usyk vs Joshua 2 rematch strategy. This fight will take place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), and Usyk won the first (last September, London, England) by decision.
