Wilder didn’t get bored outside of boxing

Former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) promises that despite his friendly relations with former sparringer Robert Helenius (31-3, 19 KOs), their fight on October 15 will be “delightful”. He stated on a teleconference that he had already done about 407 rounds of preparation in training for a comeback.

At the same time, the American puncher claims, he felt good outside the ring, and he returns simply out of love for boxing and because “he has not yet said the last word.”

“Honestly, I didn’t get bored at all,” Wilder said. – Many times I sat and thought, do I need to return at all or not? I felt so good outside the ring that I no longer need boxing. Financially, I’ve always been fine. And that’s what I tried to tell other fighters: no amount of money can set the price of life.”

“There are a lot of fighters who have nothing more to show when the game is over, but they still carry on,” Deontay said. This is a business, this is not a sport. This is purely business. Here people give their lives for the entertainment of others. Some say fighters are paid “too much”. Well, how? They risk their lives to entertain you.”

Helenius, says Wilder, he respects tremendously, as well as his coach.

“Every time we cross paths, we are like brothers. Unfortunately, we have chosen this business, where we sometimes have to beat each other. So it is. This does not mean that the fight will be uninteresting. We still go into the ring as if to war, with a fighting spirit. We are both warriors. And every time I fight, you all squirm on the edge of your chair. It will be an amazing fight, ”the American promises.

Previously, Wilder appreciated Helenius. What does Robert say about the upcoming fight?
