Why Shishkin should be Alvarez’s next opponent: Salita explains

The next opponent of the undisputed super middleweight champion Mexican Canelo Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) should not be the “interim” WBO champion from England John Ryder (31-5, 17 KOs), but Russian Vladimir Shishkin (14-0, 8 KOs), who recently won the IBF semi-final eliminator against Jose Uskategui. In any case, if Alvarez is going to have a rematch with Dmitry Bivol in the fall.

Shishkin’s promoter, Dmitry Salita, shared his thoughts on this matter.

“If Canelo wants (once again) to fight Bivol, then there is no one better than Vladimir Shishkin to prepare for Dmitry’s style,” Salita promotes the ward. “So we have been asking for a fight with Canelo for a long time, and now it would be the right move for the Mexican. John Ryder’s style has nothing to do with Bivol’s style. In addition, I believe that Shishkin has a wonderful chance of winning the fight with Canelo. But in general, I mean that stylistically he is closer to Bivol (than Ryder).”

However, it seems that Alvarez and Ryder are already on the ointment at the beginning of May. In particular, the Mexican himself has already mentioned that he is interested in a fight with Ryder in England
