Why Alvarez will beat Golovkin in a trilogy: Barrera’s opinion

Mexican boxing legend, world champion in three categories Marco Antonio Barrera believes that his compatriot Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) will try to win the upcoming third fight against Kazakh Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) ) as convincingly as possible and therefore from the very beginning will strive for an early victory.

“They have two bright and close fights behind them, in which Canelo and Golovkin showed their best,” said Barrera. – Many people have not received an answer to the question of who won the first fight, and then the second. In the third fight there will be no strategy, just as there will be no doubt about who will win.

“Canelo Alvarez will aim for a knockout from the very beginning to the end in order to complete this trilogy as convincingly as possible,” suggested Marco Antonio. – I have a feeling that the best times of Golovkin are behind us. He remains a good fighter and can still perform at the highest level. But he is no longer at his peak. I would say that Canelo is still going up and Golovkin is going downhill. So I’m betting on Canelo.”

Recall that the Alvarez-Golovkin 3 fight is scheduled for September 17 in the United States.
