Who will win in a Usyk-Fury fight? Nelson has the answer

British ex-world champion and current boxing columnist Johnny Nelson believes that his compatriot heavyweight Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will beat Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in unification and become the first in the era of four belts heavyweight absolute. The fight is expected to take place early next year in Saudi Arabia.

“Who will win? —
thought Nelson. Fury, I think. Why he? Because Tyson can do everything exactly the same as Usyk can. But he is more. Yes, Fury is the same Usyk, but his larger version. Usyk seems to be boxing and moves a little more smoothly. But we remember the boxing truth, right? A good big fighter will always beat a good little fighter. And Fury knows everything about boxing. He knows how to box and fight. He can be dirty, he can fight clean. And he knows how to psychologically get under the skin of an opponent even before the fight. Therefore, I have no doubt that he will win.”

Recall that Nelson is definitely not a fan of Usyk. He considers the Ukrainian to be an unremarkable left-hander, I am sure that he would have beaten him in his best years – Johnny also boxed in the cruiserweight, was the WBO champion at a time when the organization was not yet recognized by colleagues from the WBC, WBA and IBF.

In August, Usyk even noticed Nelson: “Why say such a thing? Does he want to fight me?” Johnny later stated: If Usyk retires, Joshua will regain his former motivation.
