Who will Bivol fight next? An honest and logical forecast from Bob Arum

WBA Super light heavyweight champion Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) won the coolest victory in his career – he defeated the former king who plays in a division below P4P rating Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs).

The boxer from the Russian Federation is forced to wait for the decision of the ex-opponent – the contract for the fight included a clause on revenge, which Canelo can use and insist on a second fight in September.

Bivol himself dreams of entering the fight for the title of absolute champion of the light heavyweight division. Already in June, the owner of the remaining three division belts will be determined in the fight between the Russian Artur Beterbiev and the American Joe Smith Jr. But there’s a problem. Bivol performs at

while Beterbiev and Smith ESPN channel.

About this and
promoter Bob Arum says: “We do a huge number of fights a year. It is clear that it is impossible to make absolutely every fight a blockbuster. But the upcoming Beterbiev vs. Smith bout is absolutely the undisputed greatest fight between two hard-hitting punchers. Fight against Bivol? No question, he is a great boxer, he showed himself well against Canelo. But the problem is that he performs on DAZN. We are not interested in sending our fighters to this platform. Yes, and they themselves are not eager, because they understand that on ESPN much larger audience.

Realistically, Arum shared his thoughts on Bivol’s next opponent: “You mean who will he face if the rematch with Canelo doesn’t happen? Definitely in this case, he should give a fight to Gilberto Ramirez, who is boxing for Golden Boy Promotions and also performs at DAZN. That is, it is logical to assume that this fight will not be difficult to do.

And in the duel Bivol vs Ramirez, it makes sense, since the Mexican recently became a mandatory contender for the Russian – he was determined in a duel with the German middle peasant Dominik Boesel. Ramirez is confident that he is the only Mexican who can beat Bivol.
