Arriving in England to fight the ward of world light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, who will defend three titles tomorrow against local mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde, the legendary American promoter Bob Arum, of course, did not avoid questions about the upcoming megafight for the absolute heavyweight championship between British Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
Arum named approximate dates when the duel can be expected.
“I hope this (the issue with the venue of the Usyk-Fury fight) will be resolved next week, and we will make an official announcement soon,” the promoter repeated the long-memorized phrase. – If the Middle East takes the fight, it will be after Ramadan (April 20). If the fight takes place in the UK, it will be early April.”
“Some of us would prefer that the fight took place at Wembley,” Arum did not hide, “but, again, it all depends on money. Fighters have a very limited time resource in their careers and must pursue monetary gain, especially when it comes to THAT kind of money. Because a few years will pass, and they will no longer have such an opportunity. ”
