WBA confirms Bivol-Ramirez fight: challenger’s reaction

As we reported a little earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) responded with a final refusal to the request of the WBA Super light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) to postpone the mandatory defense against the Mexican Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) in order to hold a voluntary against Briton Joshua Buatsi.

In the near future, the date of the promotional auction will be announced, which will determine the organizer of the fight Bivol-Ramirez.

Gilberto does not hide the joy of the upcoming championship fight: “I can’t wait. My time has come. It’s time for revenge for my Mexican people.”

Recall that in May, Dmitry upset the main star of Mexico, the absolute champion of the super middle division Canelo Alvarez, confidently outboxing him in 12 rounds.

“People want to see this fight because he beat one of the best Mexicans,” Ramirez says. “Everyone wants to see this fight.”

“I will take everything from Bivol,” Gilberto promised not so long ago.
