Ukrainian WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) considers the widespread opinion far-fetched and unfounded, according to which the monstrous and barbaric war unleashed in Ukraine by the Russian army can somehow positively affect his mood and motivation before the upcoming rematch against Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs).
Recall that in the first time after the full-scale invasion of the occupiers, Usyk was in Ukraine, joining the ranks of the territorial defense.
“My friends and people close to me died in this war,” says Alexander. “When so many people are suffering, I just can’t imagine how it can positively affect anything. I stayed there for one month and saw with my own eyes what was happening there… Rockets are flying, fighter jets are flying. This is terrible”.
