Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) is likely to be in excellent shape by the date of the rematch with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs), despite the fact that he, like so many of his compatriots, due to The strongest stress at the beginning of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine lost a lot of weight – allegedly about 10 kg in a week. This is known from the words of his promoter Alexander Krasyuk.

“When you stay in the basement because you hear a siren about a possible missile attack, there is no time for it … Let’s just say, you don’t want to eat,” he said
Sky Sports. – I had the same thing. Most of us have had the same effect. We have lost a lot of weight. It’s normal for the first period.”

But after a period of acclimatization, says Krasyuk, most Ukrainians in territories free from Russian occupiers are no longer as “nervous” as they were in the early days.

New “pound” from The Ring: Usyk is the leader

“Human psychology is very complex. It takes some time to get used to new obstacles, circumstances and new environment. But then you get used to it and no longer strain. And so it happened,” said Krasyuk. – He [Усик] lost some weight, like all of us, but I don’t think it will affect his fitness. Conditions will come after hard work in the camp. His training started in the first days of April, so he’s doing well. Thank God, now he feels great. He’s motivated.”

Recall, 35-year-old Usyk defeated Joshua last September in London and took away his world titles.

Now Usyk, according to some reports, is training in neighboring Poland. The rematch will take place on July 23 in the Middle East.

It’s funny how Alexander assessed Fury’s fight with Whyte. He says, “the fight is th * but, the knockout is cool.”
