Usyk’s Manager: ‘I Can’t Believe Fury’s Retirement As Long As He Has WBC Title’

Manager Egis Klimas does not believe the WBC heavyweight champion British Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), who recently made the final decision to end his sports career and even abandoned the belt according to magazine The Ring.

Klimas cooperates with the owner of all other heavyweight belts Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) and believes that his client will sooner or later
face Fury in the ring: Fury’s retirement? I will believe only when an official message appears that the WBC belt has become vacant. Until then, I’m not going to believe a single word he says. It’s hard to predict here. But we know Fury. He is very good at entertaining and he is good at promotion. I have no doubt that he will come back to fight for all the division belts.”

On August 20, in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Usyk will fight with the previous owner of the WBA Super, IBF, WBO belts, Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in a rematch – the first fight took place in September in London (England), ended with the victory of the Ukrainian.

Fans and pundits are dreaming of seeing Fury face off against the winner of the rematch to determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.

Meanwhile, Joshua, before the fight with Usyk, remembered Tyson: “The battle is lost, but not the war,” and Fury remains the WBC champion, but already with a deadline.
