Usyk’s defeat made Joshua even stronger – Olympic medalist

September defeat to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) made British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) even stronger, especially mentally. So says the Olympic medalist from Britain
Fraser Clark (1-0, 1 KO).

Both British heavyweights train with Angel Fernandez. Joshua made this specialist his head coach after he decided to leave Rob McCracken, with whom he had collaborated since the amateur stage of his career.

Clark surethat in the rematch Joshua will be different, because “that defeat made him an even better fighter. The defeat opened his eyes to some moments. And he became much stronger psychologically, stronger mentally. I think he made exactly those adjustments and changes that will help him. He has assembled a team of like-minded people who live for one goal – the victory of Joshua in a rematch. Undoubtedly, Usyk cannot be written off, he is an incredible fighter. But I am sure that Anthony is now able to get into the ring and get even for that defeat.

Meanwhile, Usyk became the leader of the “pound” from The Ring, as well as according to the versions from DAZN and from WMMAA. Eddie Hearn has good news about the Usyk-Joshua rematch, and the Ukrainian promoter talked about the prospects for the fight with Fury.
