32-year-old British cruiser (up to 90.7 kg) Chris Billam-Smith (17-1, 12 KOs) is slightly inclined to believe that the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will still defeat the WBC belt holder Tyson Fury when they meet in April(?) for the #1 title in the division.
“There is something about Usyk that makes me lean 0.0001% towards him. Something in his aura
said British. “I don’t know what it is, but I would still lean a little on the other side of the fence.”
But, says Billam-Smith, Fury is still huge, “and he knows how to show who’s boss in the ring.”
Usyk on Anthony Joshua’s future in boxing
“So if Tyson can come out and use all the strengths that people yelled at AJ in the Usyk fight: bully him, lean on him, tire him out, then I’m sure he will win,” Cruiser said.
Mexican big man Arreola also chose a favorite: “Some things you can’t learn,” he says.
Yesterday, Usyk wrote down an appeal to the head of the IOC about the Russians. You know what’s in there.
