Ukrainian WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) categorically disagrees with those who watched his fight against Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in September last fight from the outside and claims that for Usyk it was an easy victory.
Recall that Alexander really confidently outboxed Joshua, moreover, on the territory of the opponent, by unanimous decision of the judges.
However, according to the Ukrainian, there was nothing easy about it.
“It was a really tough fight for me,” Usyk says. “Everyone keeps saying it was a cakewalk, but it really wasn’t like that at all. It was a tough fight for both him and me. After the fight, I returned to the hotel, had a little snack and fell asleep sitting upright.
Currently, Alexander is preparing for a rematch with Joshua, which is scheduled for August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
Sparringer Joshua, aka 2020 Olympic medalist, thinks Chisora and Witherspoon have shown that Usyk can be beaten.
