Usyk-Joshua 2: Saudi Arabia undercard fights announced

On August 20, a boxing evening will be held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the main event of which will be a heavyweight rematch for the WBA / WBO / IBF world titles between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and Briton Anthony Joshua.

Today, the undercard fights of this show were officially announced.

As we reported earlier, the Croatian Filip Hrgovic (14-0, 12 KOs) and Chinese Zhang Zhilei (24-0-1, 19 KOs) will determine the official contender for the IBF world heavyweight title.

Former British Super Middleweight Champion Callum Smith (28-1, 20 KOs) in the light heavyweight division (up to 79.4 kg) will meet with the Frenchman Mathieu Boderlikom (21-1, 12 KOs) to determine the contender for the WBC title held by Artur Beterbiev.

In addition, ex-world champion in two categories badu jack (25-3-3, 15 KOs) from Sweden will fight with an American Richard Rivera (21-0, 16 KOs) within the cruiserweight (up to 90.7 kg).

8-round heavyweight fight will be held by an American Andrew Tabiti (19-1, 15 KOs) and the representative of Suriname Tyrone Spong (14-0, 13 KOs).

Ukrainian light heavyweight prospect Daniel Lapin (5-0, 0 KOs) will meet with the Slovak Josef Yurko (9-6-1, 6 KOs).

The first women’s fight in Saudi Arabia will be held by a native of Somalia from the UK Ramla Ali (6-0, 1 KO) and Cristal Garcia Nova (10-2, 10 KOs) from the Dominican Republic – they have 8 rounds in the second bantamweight division (up to 55.3 kg).

Finally, a professional debutant from the USA and super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) Ziyad Almaayuf boxing with a mexican Hector Alatorre (0-1).

Meanwhile, Usyk responded to those who consider his victory over Joshua easy, and Joshua, on the eve of the fight with Usyk, realized why he was not respected in America.
