Promoter Eddie HearnMatchroom Boxing) were asked to comment on the actions of coach Robert Garcia, who was preparing British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) for a rematch with the unified heavyweight champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

The fight took place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Usyk celebrated the victory by split decision. Joshua generally looked much more solid than in the first fight, but failed the decisive rounds. After that, Garcia said that the Briton is inferior to the Ukrainian mentally. Later, the mentor began to claim that his words were misinterpreted, since he gave an interview in Spanish.

Opinion Hearna: “First of all, Garcia did speak Spanish. And, secondly, I think that Usyk is really stronger than Joshua in this regard. Do not forget that Alexander has 400 amateur fights behind him, that he was the absolute cruiserweight champion, that he started boxing at the age of 6. What do I think of Garcia’s words? He has the right to his opinion. Everyone is entitled. It’s okay, let’s move on.”

Earlier, the promoter revealed what Joshua’s first words after the loss were: “Damn I didn’t box well!” Rumor has it that a world tour is being prepared for the loser – the desired top rival for the stadium has been named.
