“Usyk is fearless, this is one of the keys to victory.” Andy Ruiz is preparing for the fight with Alexander

Former unified heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2, 22 KOs) spoke with local reporters at the boxing gym.

Ruiz, who defeated the British holder of three titles Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs),
spoke out about the arrival of the well-known American coach Robert Garcia to Joshua’s team. Ruiz also noted that it would be difficult for Anthony to defeat his offender Ukrainian IBF / WBO / WBA title holder Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), and the war in Ukraine would only add motivation to Oleksandr.

– What do you think about the participation of Robert Garcia in preparation for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk?

– I think it’s good. I think he needs a Mexican on his side, especially Robert Garcia. He makes all his fighters aggressive and teaches them to counterattack. This is exactly what Anthony Joshua needs. He needs to be aggressive. He is bigger, he is stronger, but Usyk is fearless. It’s hard to win against someone who is fearless and very confident. This is one of the keys to winning a duel if you are the one everyone doubts.

Usyk arrived after the tragic events in his country. It will be in his head. I don’t know if it’s good for him or bad for him. What do you say?

“I think it might do him good. He will have more motivation. I do this for my people, for my country, I can’t lose, I will remain a champion – I think Usyk has such a psychology. He is a Christian. He believes in Jesus Christ. You just want him to win. That’s why I fight southpaw (Luis Ortiz September 4, approx. WMMAA). So I’ll prepare if I have to fight Usyk.

Also, the sparring partner of Usyk and Joshua appreciated the strength of the fighters and spoke about the rematch.
