Former world welterweight champion Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko shared his opinion about the upcoming megafights with the participation of compatriots Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Vasily Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs).
Both should perform in the spring and compete for the title of absolute champion: Usyk has a preliminary scheduled fight against Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) on April 29, and Lomachenko should enter the ring on May 20 against American Devin Haney (29-0 , 15 KOs).
Senchenko expressed his views in

About Usyk-Fury:
“I think Fury is pulling the contract on purpose. I think he understands when there will be a fight, but he is deliberately delaying the signing of the agreement. Perhaps he is counting on Usyk not to train, but Usyk, as we all know, has been in the camp for a long time. Perhaps, indeed, the Briton’s bet on the psychological factor, but for Usyk this will not be a problem. It won’t work with him, I’m sure. I think Usyk’s team understands this, they are getting ready, I think it doesn’t matter to them.”
“I am sure that Usyk will be the most inconvenient for Fury. The fact that the Briton will be the most inconvenient for the Ukrainian … probably, too. There will be inconvenience on both sides. Here the question will be who will prepare better, who will feel better physically – he will win.

On Haney-Lomachenko:
“It will be a tough fight for both fighters. I can’t single out who is better and who is worse. Both fighters have their strengths and weaknesses. Among Haney’s strengths are speed and youth, Lomachenko has experience and skill, he can do everything in the ring. Again, everything will depend on the preparation, who in what condition will approach the battle. We have an interesting fight, a duel with intrigue. I can’t pick a clear favorite.”
“I think he (Haney) is cutting a lot of weight. However, it will be a championship fight, and they will approach it at the same weight, no one will have the advantage that someone is more and someone is less. Yes, Haney is taller and bigger than a Ukrainian, but I don’t think that this will be the main advantage for the outcome of the fight. Dimensions will not decide the fate of the fight.
