Tulkin Kilichev – head coach of the Uzbekistan national boxing team – gave
interview for the YouTube channel “Viktor Yalymov’s Boxing Studio”.
In a conversation, the mentor spoke about the heavyweight prospect (over 90.7 kg) from Uzbekistan Bakhodir Jalolov (12-0, 12 KOs). Tulkin also commented on the third fight between Fury and Chisora and spoke about the upcoming fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between Fury and the unified champion from Ukraine Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

Yes, there are plans. It needs to be further developed and discussed.

— The prospects are great. We need to get him into the top 10. We are ready. According to my information, few people want to box with Jalolov, honestly. They don’t want to take risks. To each his own time, they say. Bahodir wants Joshua or Tyson Fury, for that matter. They will also say – you deserve it first. They, too, do not want to take risks with a promising young man, I guess. We try to quickly scroll it up to ten. We are working on it. Vadim is working, our team is working. – So you think that Fury is now at his peak, and he is better than Usyk?
– Yes. Usyk still has weight, height, data, as a heavyweight. He can win when there is no school. This, Joshua didn’t have a school. He lost because of it. He has no legs. He’s like a jerk. Usyk had our school, the Soviet, Ukrainian school. Here he showed. This played a major role. Fury doesn’t have one like Joshua. He knows how to shuttle jump, he knows how to hit, he holds it in front of his hand. He has a boxing school.
Do you still think Fury is the favorite in the fight against Usyk?
Yes, the favourite.
– Maybe a knockdown, or what kind of battle do you see in general?
– Yes, I see, it will not be 100% to the end. I think sooner or later this giant will hit. But anything happens. This is boxing. Usyk is also not a fool, he knows how to work against boxers. Let’s see. The favorite is still Fury.

– I will root for Usyk. But this is purely my boxing opinion.
– When will Jalolov be ready for Usyk or Fury?
– I think we can be ready for Usyk through the battle. We will fight and we can prepare for Usyk, if they say. With Fury it’s still early, but we can also take risks. With Usyk, we are confident that we will do this fight and we can win.
