Usman’s team made a statement about a rematch with Edwards

Team Kamaru Usman commented on rumors that a hand injury will prevent the former UFC welterweight champion from getting a title rematch against British Leon Edwards, who plans to defend his belt on March 18 at UFC 286 in London.

“Please stop the rumors! Kamaru will be next to fight Leon – he’s ready to fight. We will return the championship belt to its rightful place, ”the Nigerian’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, wrote on the social network.

The reason for the rumors about the injury of the ex-UFC champion was the recent appearance of Usman in public with a bandage on his arm, as well as the fact that representatives of the organization have not yet announced the main event of the numbered British event, which is just over two months away.

Last August, Leon Edwards shocked the world of mixed martial arts when a minute before the end of the title fight with a kick to the head, he knocked out Kamara Usman, who until that moment had confidently won the fight and was close to winning by unanimous decision.
