The sensational defeat of the super-middleweight absolute Mexican Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) from the WBA Super champion Russian light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) provoked another reshuffle in our ranking of the best boxers in the world, regardless of weight category.
Tendril? Which Usyk? Canelo Alvarez failed Bivol – a report about this event from WMMAA
The former absolute champion of the cruiserweight and the current holder of the WBA Super, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), jumped to the first line. Canelo dropped to 2nd position.
Another change in the “pound” is the debut in the list of the strongest Bivol. The Russian took a high 6th position, surpassed the Japanese Naoya Inoue, the British Josh Taylor, the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko and the American Shakur Stevenson, and the great Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin was completely thrown out of the top 10.
As of 05/00/2022, pound-for-pound from WMMAA looks like this:
one. Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs)
2. Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs)
3. Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs)
