At the weekend in Glendale (Arizona, USA), the cult champions of the second flyweight weight Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada (44-3, 28 KOs) and Nicaraguan Roman Gonzalez (51-4, 41 KOs) issued a trilogy – an underdog from Mexico celebrated the victory by a majority decision .
And right after that vRINGe Editorial Board staged a traditional heated debate over Estrada’s place in the ranking of the best boxers in the world, regardless of weight categories. There were three proposals – to place El Gallo in 8th, 9th or 10th place.
We agreed on the “arithmetic mean”. Estrada bypassed the ex-absolute champion in super lightweight Scot Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs) and threw American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) out of the top 10 of the current absolute at 69.9 kg.
As of 12/05/2022, the top 10 from vRINGe looks like this:
1. Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs)
2. Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs)
3. Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs)
4. Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs)
5. Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs)
6. Terence Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs)
7. Naoya Inoue (23-0, 20 KOs)
8. Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs)
9. Juan Francisco Estrada (44-3, 28 KOs)
10. Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs)
And over the weekend we managed to update TOP 10 across all weight divisions.
