Undefeated French welterweight has signed with the UFC

The world’s strongest league continues to strengthen its roster with talent from France.

Another addition to the organization is undefeated welterweight Omar Sy, who is the full namesake of the famous French actor.

The 27-year-old representative of the Bulgarian Top Team club won his ninth professional victory in June of this year, finishing Brazilian Ildemar Alcantara, known for his performances in the UFC, WFCA and ProFC, by technical knockout in the first round.

Prior to that, the Frenchman had eight wins, six of which came by way of early decision.

UFC officials have not made any official announcements about the signing of Omar Sy, but his profile appeared on the organization’s official website, and the fighter’s coach posted a meaningful note on social media.

“Work and dedication pays off – that’s what we will always remember,” the specialist wrote. “Thank you to everyone who helped directly or indirectly. The future is ours – if you can’t beat us, join us.”

Recall that the UFC bantamweight championship belt is currently vacant, and its new holder will be determined on November 11 in a fight between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira.
