UFC Vegas 48 results: Parker Porter uses grappling to ground Alan Baudot and win unanimous decision

Parker Porter used his grappling skills to subdue Alan Baudot in three rounds to win an unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 48..

It was Porter’s ability to muscle Baudot around in the clinch, along with some well timed takedowns, that helped him secure the victory. Porter’s third consecutive UFC victory after a defeat in his debut octagon bout.

The heavyweights were adamant in their attack at the beginning of the fight. They threw every punch they could. Porter eventually slowed the action by moving into the clinch as Baudot played defense against the cage.

Porter applied pressure as the fighters split, trying to get Baudot within a reasonable distance and timing an uppercut when Baudot stepped towards him.

Baudot was more involved in defense than Porter, who continued mixing up his strikes and using his punches for takedown attempts. Baudot found space for his strikes when he did have some room, but Porter was not a fan of Baudot having that much time to do so.

Baudot started to rack up strikes and Porter was left with a bloody nose. As time ticked away in the final round, Baudot showcased his striking game, but Porter refused to go away until he finally secured a takedown with just two minutes remaining.

Porter moved to the mount during the fight’s last seconds. This allowed him to land a few punches, and left a lasting impression on the judges.

It wasn’t always pretty, but Porter did enough to get the win, which is all that mattered in the end.
