This was announced at a press conference after the event by UFC President Dana White.
“We needed the main event for this card, which is why we chose these two,” said the head of the organization. “We had a rough idea of how it would be – this guy looks like a future heavyweight division star”
“His two-foot pass was insane. When he took a dominant position from above, but did not waste time, and did everything to finish the fight ahead of schedule. I have high hopes for this guy. I think it will be special.”
Earlier, the 31-year-old Brazilian, who made his debut in the UFC in February last year, scored four more early victories in the organization, including finishing with a technical knockout of Russian Shamil Abdurahimov. Almeida is currently ranked twelfth in the organization’s heavyweight rankings, but a win over Rozenstruik will move him into the top ten of the division.
