Former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway proved once again that he still outperforms any potential contender in the division by defeating previously undefeated Arnold Allen under the banner of the world’s strongest league in the main event of UFC on ESPN 44.
The fight, held in Kansas City, went the full distance and ended with a score of 48-47 and 49-46 twice in favor of the American, who not only returned his career to a successful track after the third loss to Alexander Volkanovski, but also interrupted the Briton’s impressive winning streak, won ten fights in the UFC.
In the co-main event of the event, Brazilian featherweight Edson Barboza knocked out American Billy Quarantillo with a knee strike in the middle of the first round.
In the third most important event of the tournament, the undefeated Russian light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov won his third victory in the UFC, winning a unanimous decision over American Dustin Jacoby.
Among other results, we note the successful performance of the Moldavian light heavyweight Ion Cutelaba, who in two minutes finished by technical knockout of the Canadian Tanner Boser, who previously competed in the organization’s heavyweight division.
