According to the head of the organization, Dana White, the Russian’s fight was the least interesting in the entire card, and the criticism of Yevloev by fans is justified.
“He’s not thrilled about fans criticizing him for his lack of early wins?” the UFC chief said at the post-event press conference. “He’s going to have to deal with that, because that was the least exciting fight I’ve seen tonight. I know who lost in that fight tonight – the fans.”
After defeating the Briton 29-28 three times over three rounds, undefeated Movsar Yevloev recorded his eighth win by decision under the UFC banner, having never won a fight in the organization before.
In a post-fight interview, the Russian said he would like to face the winner of the title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Elijah Topuria to headline UFC 298 in Anaheim on Feb. 17.
