Cannabis use will not be disqualified
The UFC will ease the policy regarding the use of marijuana by athletes.
UFC Vice President Jeff Nowitzki said:
“Despite the fact that we will not allow athletes under the influence of marijuana to fight, it turned out that traces of cannabis use remain in the body for quite a long period of time,” Nowitzki said.
This decision was made after consultation with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
At the same time, athletes will be disqualified if it is proven that they used marijuana to improve performance.
