UFC confirms Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler date

UFC President Dana White has confirmed that the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will take place in December this year.

The head of the organization told reporters about this at a press conference held the day before in Las Vegas.

“That’s right, it will take place at the end of the year,” White said. “First, Conor needs to get into the USADA testing pool and now he is preparing the paperwork. I don’t know how soon this will happen, but everything is in the process. Hopefully we’ll have a big fight at Madison Square Garden in November and then another big fight in December.”

A few days earlier, the US Anti-Doping Agency said that Conor McGregor would soon return to the testing pool and undergo a mandatory six-month vetting period before he was allowed to return to the octagon.

Thus, the UFC is going to end the year with two big fights – in November there will be a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, and in December the final number show of the strongest league in the world will be headed by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. Presumably, these will be the UFC 295 and UFC 296 tournaments, respectively.
