UFC Columbus’ March event will feature Neil Magny and Max Griffin.

Welterweights Neil Magny and Max Griffin are expected to clash at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card scheduled for Columbus on March 26.

Multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting that verbal agreements are in place from both athletes, although no contracts have been issued or signed at this time. The bout was initially reported by Twitter user MagicM MMA.

The fight will serve as Magny’s first appearance since May 2021 when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Geoff Neal to move his record to 4-1 over his past five fights. Magny won notable victories over Robbie Lawler, Li Jingliang and former UFC welterweight champion Michael Chiesa.

More recently, Magny had been pursuing a potential fight against rising star Khamzat Chimaev but it appears he won’t land that particular matchup.

Magny will instead face Griffin. Magny has a current three-fight winning streak, having defeated Carlos Condit, the interim welterweight champion, and knockouts over Song Kenan, Ramiz Brahimaj, among others.

Although he has had to face a lot of high-level talent throughout his career, Griffin is now enjoying the longest win streak in UFC history since joining the 2016. roster.

If Magny vs. Griffin goes through, then the welterweights will join an event that features Jan Blachowicz (former UFC light-heavyweight champion) as he faces Aleksandar Rakic. This is the UFC’s first visit to Columbus in over a decade.
