“I will be defending my title again in April at UFC 300 in Las Vegas and then hopefully fight at home in Birmingham at Villa Park in the summer,” Homeoffight quoted the Brit as saying. “I’m in talks with the UFC and hopefully we can make it happen.”
On December 16 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, Leon Edwards made the second successful defense of his title, winning a five-round unanimous decision over Colby Covington.
Potential candidates to fight the Brit are top welterweights Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov, ranked second and third in the division’s rankings, respectively.
Leon Edwards is among the organization’s top fighters regardless of weight class and is ranked fourth in the UFC’s P4P rankings.
