The Brazilian said this in an interview with sports columnist Guilherme Cruz, specifying that he expects to compete at UFC 301, which takes place on May 4 in Rio de Janeiro.
The 23-year-old Dagestan native made it clear that he is more than happy with the current titleholder’s plan.
“Brandon Royval has a knee injury, Brandon Moreno lost three times to Pantoja, Manel Kape will probably have another fight because he couldn’t make weight last time, Amir Albazi is injured, Kai Kara-France has a concussion – now I’m the only challenger, but I need to get an impressive win over Perez,” Mokaev said while speaking to reporters in Las Vegas. “I’ve already done the math – after March 2, I’ll have ten weeks and I’m ready. Like I said, I have a lot of experience in my amateur career and I’m ready to fight every weekend.”
As a reminder, the fight between Muhammad Mokaev and Alex Perez will be part of UFC Fight Night 238, which will take place on March 2 in Las Vegas.
