UFC approves Tom Aspinall plan

UFC management sees nothing unworkable in the plan of Tom Aspinall, who, after defeating Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 224 in London, promised to beat the winner of the fight between Cyril Gan and Sergey Spivak, and then deal with the current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

This was announced to journalists at a press conference after the event by the vice-president of the strongest league in the world, Dave Shaw.

“You heard him – he’s got it all figured out,” Shaw said. “If he really goes to Paris, he will sit there and watch the fight between Gan and Spivak, so that he can fight the winner later. Perhaps in 2024 we will see a fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall in the stadium.

Earlier, the words of the British heavyweight, who finished the Pole with a technical knockout in the first round, were commented on by Jon Jones, who expressed his attitude towards them with the phrase “sounds good”.

What place in these plans is given to the Russian puncher Sergey Pavlovich, who occupies the first line in the UFC heavyweight ranking and remains without an scheduled fight, is still unknown.

Recall that the fight between Cyril Gan and Sergey Spivak will be the main event of the UFC Fight Night 226 tournament, which will be held on September 2 in Paris, and Jon Jones will defend his title on November 11 at UFC 295 in New York against former division champion Stipe Miocic.
